Improve the Microsoft GUI
Being an avid Amiga fan boy which had some very unique GUI features, and seeing so many advantages to the Linux GUI customisation, I spend way too much time trying to make Microsoft OS look and feel like the superior alternernatives. Of course they have their own issues but I am constantly frustrated by the M$OS (Windows 7 currently) after spending so much time on Linux. The Microsoft Desktop still has its place in my home since that is the platform of choice for gaming still.
The following third party addons make using M$OS bearable.
SendToBack
A fairly simple program which was made for Windows XP but also seems to work fine on Windows 7. All it does is sends the top most window to the bottom of the stack when you right click on a window title border. It is similar to how things were done on the Amiga and also incorporated in many Linux GUI environments.
4t Tray Minimizer Free
This adds three extra tool buttons on the window title border.
- Roll Up/Down which toggles rolling up any window to its title bar.
- Pin On Top, forces a window above all others. I find this one very handy.
- Transperancy which makes any window see through.

AltDrag
That is it for now. As I come up with others that make my M$OS experience better I will add them here.

AltDrag
What do you do when a window appears behind a window pinned on top. Easy, just alt+click and drag anywhere on the window with "AltDrag" to easily move the window to where you can see it.
